Here are some photos I took at the Bonneville Salt Falts during Speed Week. A unique experience where the tangible collective passion envelops you at every curious step on the surreal dry lake.
Its astonishing to see so many obsessing over their old 1930’s Four Flathead engines, hoping to propel their Street Roadster over 100mph in the V4F/BSTR Class (Vintage Four Flathead Blown Street Roadster). In 2004 the Race Deck Roadster, a heavily tuned Ford Model A from 1930 with a ‘blown’ turbo engine clocked 213.413 mph!
Why would anyone dedicate so much time and such effort to turn an old Ford into a high performance roadster, especially when you can buy a new factory built sports car? Some call this ‘Salt Fever’.
