Product Specific Footwear Production as another Design Deliverable.

Design is a holistic discipline which combines more elements than form, materials and performance. For example Design is also culture, education and environmental compatibility.

Every brand and person involved in the creation of footwear product should continuously seek to maximize the deliverables.

One deliverable to consider elevating is production, because special product should also be made in a special way. Like this Louis Vuitton Evening Men’s Shoe.

Luis Vuitton communicates this well in the following video; heightening the consumer experience by showing that their products are also crafted with care and sophistication.

But products can be made in many ‘special’ ways, not just associated with craft. Sophisticated automated production processes for example not only communicate an elevated understanding of product creation and development, but ultimately also of elevated performance.

Should designers research and design methods of footwear construction that distinguish and elevate their footwear design?  The beginning of this video called Chemical Trabant shows this potential very well. What if technical athletic shoes were made in automated factories with sophisticated system processes and construction methods? Would knowledge of this heighten the consumer experience?
