Just download, start up and turn the dial to create thousands of different patterns from overlapping circles. The Circle Monster is a simple app. created 6 years ago by Max Williams and inspired by one of his father’s pattern books.
As a geometry creation interface, The Circle Monster is a good example of how some design might change in the future.
In the future, consumers will buy 3D computer files for printed product such as jewelry, a cell phone case, or even footwear. Then before printing they will be able to personally alter certain aspects of the design within preset parameters, elements such as texture, proportions and size.
With developments in digital technology, consumers will soon be able to easily participate in the design process beyond colour and material selection.
By simply turning a dial consumers will decide how many twists their bracelet shall have, how thick the texture of their iphone case, or the size and spacing of their sneaker traction design.

3D Printed soles and knitted upper will have their structure and geometry modified in a similar way by the consumer simply turning a dial, or entering a few specifications on a webpage. Almost limitless design variables will be possible to provide personalized product. This illustration of multiple sole options along the same theme by Matthew Flail reminds me of this.
