It was something I had never experienced in other companies, where you are generally just briefed about the seasonal projects and left to plan, meet and design. But often overlooked is that the bigger the company and the goal, the better the synergy and orchestration need to be.
Which is why I think one of the most valuable lessons Nike offers every employee from the get-go, are clear guidelines on how to be most effective, get the best work done, to continuously and collectively focus on the same goal the Nike way.
I recently came across this almost 40 year old Nike internal memo by Rob Strasser titled “Principles”, which comes as such a stark reminder of such guidelines and what it takes to be successful like Nike.
